Via upload to Club Log and electing to enter the CDXC DX Marathon Challenge on the Club Log website. Regular uploading of your log during the year is encouraged – at least once per month is preferred – as this helps to drive the Challenge and provides a spectator sport for all to see. To be eligible for awards, Club Log uploads must occur at least three times during the year, including at least once in the 3rd calendar quarter, once in the October-November period, and at least once between December 1st and December 15th. More frequent uploads are encouraged. emailed or paper logs will NOT be accepted. To assist with adjudication, all entrants are encouraged to upload their log to LoTW and to do so within a week of the end of the Challenge. Trophies and Salvers will only be awarded to those who have uploaded their log to LoTW within three weeks of the end of the Challenge. |
Log Verification: |
No QSLs are required, but in the event of a dispute the CDXC committee may request verification via other means. By entering, participants agree that their Club Log entries may be viewed and queried by adjudicators. By entering, participants agree that the decisions of adjudicators will be final. |

CDXC DX Marathon Challenge 2024 Results
Participation in the 2024 CDXC Marathon was up compared to 2023 with 182 members taking part, of which 46 were overseas members, 2 Intermediate licensees and 2 Foundation licensees.
The year started with 2 great DXpeditions from TX5S and the 8R7X providing lots of activity on the bands and giving people the opportunity to work an ATNO or fill some slots. We also had the introduction of the new FT8 SuperFox mode which was used during the N5J, KH8 and CY9 DXPeditions in August.
The GM4FAM Trophy for most DXCC worked using CW is awarded to Lars-Goran, SM6CUK. Although the highest score for the CW section was actually Dick, PA3FQA with 249 but with the 3 year rule he is unable to claim the trophy and likewise Chris, G3SJJ who came second with 242 DXCC. Lars-Goran was third with 241.
The G3NUG Trophy which is for most DXCC worked using SSB was won by Riccardo, IU1RLJ with 244 DXCCs. Second place goes to Andy, G3SVD with 230 and a very close third was And,y M0NKR also with 230, just 28 slots separating them.
The 3 year rule came into effect again for The President’s Trophy which is for the most DXCCs working using MGM. The highest score was from Antilano, PY5EG with 269 DXCC but having won this section in 2022 the trophy goes to Norman, 5B4AIF who came second with 254 with third place going to Trevor, EI2GLB with 253.
The Intermediate section was won by Mark, 2E0FVN with 248 DXCC
The Foundation section was won by Richard, M3BGE with 233 DXCC
Congratulations to all of the trophy and certificate winners and to everyone else who took part.

CDXC DX Marathon Challenge 2023 Results
The scores for the 2023 Marathon were again up from the previous year in all categories. Improved solar conditions and a great year for DXpeditions, which included Bouvet early in the year and later Ducie, Swains and Marquesas Islands plus various other DX in between. Participation was good again this year with 176 CDXC members entering the Marathon.
The 3-year rule came into play in the CW and Phone sections: the 3-year rule states an entrant can only receive the same trophy once in any three year period. This only applies to the trophies and not certificates nor the Intermediate and Foundation sections.
The CW section saw some familiar callsigns at the top of the table. Dick, PA3FQA finished top of the table with 251, Chris G3SJJ also worked with 251 DXCC but had fewer slots than Dick so comes in second and Lionel G5LP came third with 242. These three have all won this section in the last three years so the 2023 GM4FAM Trophy goes to John, GM0OPS who came 4th working 241 DXCC.
The Phone section was hotly contested. Rob, MW0RLJ finished at the top of the table with 254 but having won in 2020 is not eligible for the trophy and so the G3NUG Trophy for most DXCC on Phone was won by Andy, M0NKR with 235 DXCC followed by Gary, G0FWX with the same DXCC count but fewer slots. In third place was Robert, G4TUK with 214..
The 2023 Presidents Trophy for most DXCC worked using MGM goes to Trevor, EI2GLB with 263 DXCC, only 3 behind in second place was William, N6RV and third place goes to Norman, 5B4AIF with 257.
The winner of the Foundation section for 2023 is Darren, M3DFW with 192
The winner of the Intermediate section was Mark, 2E0FVN with 241
Congratulations to all of the winners, some really great scores across all sections.
Note: We will consider changing the rules to ask those near the top of the tables not to remove their logs from Club Log until we have concluded adjudication. This is a situation that caused a correction to the Phone results.

CDXC DX Marathon Challenge 2022 Results
During 2022 as cycle 25 develops we saw an increase in DXCC’s worked particularly in the higher bands 10m and 12m but a decline in DXCC’s on the lower bands. The Challenge was taken up by many and was available throughout the year for spectator participation.
This DXCC Challenge has rules which encourage all types of station through its membership to compete against even the large DX stations and in doing so gives the smaller stations the opportunity to improve year on year through checking their updated logs by using Club Log and LOTW.
This year’s lead station in the SSB section Rob, MW0RLJ with a score of 235 DXCC’s is not eligible to receive the SSB Trophy as he won the trophy in 2020 (any Trophy may be won by an operator only once in any 3 year period). Great score nonetheless Rob – you will get a certificate to recognise your effort.
