Acom 1000 for sale

I have an Acom 1000 for sale. It was bought second-hand a few years ago for use on 50MHz and as a back-up for HF. It has seen little use and works well. Recently re-valved with one of a NOS matched pair from Array Solutions; the other is available by separate negotiation. Fitted with the auxiliary external fan and filter from new.

Looking for £1599 ovno, collection and demonstration welcome or will deliver anywhere in UK. GW4FRX QTHR.

I have the following classic receivers for sale:

Racal RA1778

Racal RA1792

Racal RA1795

Racal RA3791

All are immaculate and in excellent working condition. All will be supplied with the appropriate manuals, literature and rebuild/overhaul records where applicable.

The RA1778 was fully overhauled some years ago. It has new reservoir capacitors, a rewired PSU with PTFE cabling throughout and numerous other enhancements. It comes with a comprehensive set of spares.

The RA1792 is a very rare ex-GCHQ example. Its configuration is GP/S2/S/D/5/KA with 86880 firmware and an additional 100Hz CW filter. It also has a very high-grade roofing filter. The displays are excellent. This receiver also comes with a comprehensive set of spares and firmware.

The RA1795 is ex-RAF Digby. Its configuration is B1/JE/S3/D/F. This receiver exhibits a remarkable combination of sensitivity and strong-signal handling. Coverage is 20MHz-1GHz and modes are AM, SSB, CW, FM and Pulse.

The RA3791’s origin is not known but it appears to have been almost unused. It can be supplied with an ex-GCHQ DK-43 RTTY width indicator on request.

Recent measurements have been made on all these receivers and are available if required. Collection and demonstration are welcome, delivery is possible within the UK.

New matched pair of two Svetlana 4CX800A tubes in 2020. + one spare working and tested tube.
Amp used as backup since 2020 and only run for a few hours each year.

What power rating are they, please, and what use have they had? I have already bought a pair of 200w ones as reserve, but would really like a pair at 1kW. My next reply might take a couple of days as I’m off to the south of France by train later today and will have to rely on hotel WiFi!! 73 & tnx de Keith G3TTC
